Headquartered in Toronto, the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is responsible for investing in new infrastructure projects. The CIB’s mission is to work with provincial, territorial, municipal, federal, Indigenous and private sector investor partners to transform the way infrastructure is planned, financed and delivered in Canada.

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management, the Senior Analyst is responsible for onboarding investments as well as routine activities including monitoring investments, performance reporting, draw execution and liaising with other areas of the CIB on related asset management matters. The individual will also be responsible for assisting in system implementation, management reporting, and executing processes to ensure high data integrity of our investment pipeline.

This position requires a process champion who is comfortable establishing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with processes. It requires communication and interpersonal skills – someone who is comfortable to engage across the CIB.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the onboarding of new investments including coordinating with management teams and establishing processes and procedures for ongoing compliance
  • Monitor and evaluate portfolio and asset performance
  • Prepare investment updates to various stakeholders including quarterly presentations and annual reviews
  • Validate funding requests and coordinate funds flow between Finance and assets (i.e., construction draws, interest charges and amortization repayments, etc.)
  • Update amortization schedules and operating financial models
  • Maintain liquidity forecasts for both existing and prospective investments
  • Track and maintain KPIs for each investment
  • Liaise with the Investments team for non-routine activities including consents, waivers and remediation plans
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Risk teams on Annual Internal Rating Reviews
  • Assist in special projects as required (i.e., implementation of Asset Management System, revamp of management reporting, etc.)
  • Establish and enforcing a clear process for updating data sources and ensuring their quality/integrity
  • Work with IT to create dynamic, automated reporting
Your ideal profile
  • Professional accounting designation and/or CFA is an asset
  • Three+ years of experience in a related field
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including reviewing and updating financial models
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools like Power BI, or similar platforms is an asset
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles and an understanding of data risk/data management
  • Self-starter that will seek guidance from the Manager, Asset Management as required
  • Planning and organizational skills with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities, ability to manage functional programs independently
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. Experience documenting processes
  • Strong conceptual and problem-solving abilities required
  • Experience with working in both a technical and business context is an asset
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and as a part of a larger team
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset (training can be provided)
