Kelowna, Canada ARC Programs Ltd. Full time

The Boundaries Program is looking for a couple or an individual interested in providing foster care for youth involved in the Youth Justice System.

The Boundaries Program is a Full-Time Attendance Program which provides a highly-supervised, structured environment to assist youth to address criminogenic factors and to reduce risk. The Program works in cooperation with Youth Probation and Youth Forensics Psychiatric Services to support the youth’s participation in offence-specific treatment. Services are customized to address the individual needs of each youth, while amplifying treatment goals.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide supervision, stability, and care to youth referred to the Program.
  2. Assist youth in learning life skills in the home and help them achieve service goals.
  3. Accommodate youth's schedules and involve the youth in regular routines and family activities in the home.
  4. Be fully immersed in the youth’s case management team, which includes Youth Probation and Youth Forensics Psychiatric Services, allowing for ongoing communication and service planning.
Qualifications

Applicants should have an aptitude for relating to youth, be willing to work as part of a team, and be open to learning. Training and ongoing professional development is provided.

Wage / Schedule / Supports

The base salary for this position is $3975.00 / month plus an additional $29.00 each day a youth is in the home. Caregivers are provided with 6 days of respite each month, at no cost.

Caregivers are well-supported by the Boundaries team. The Program employs a Youth Justice Counsellor, who works one-to-one with the youth in the community, and helps youth and Caregivers navigate challenging issues. 24-7 on-call support is provided by the Boundaries Program Director.

Please Note:

Youth live in the Boundaries Caregiver’s home. This means applicants must have adequate space in their home to accommodate one youth at a time (including a private bedroom).

While we appreciate everyone's interest, please be aware that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
