Partner staffing, on behalf of our Client, is looking to find an experienced Level 3 Building Science Engineer. You will be a key technical leader responsible for overseeing and executing complex projects related to building envelope performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Your role will involve managing a variety of tasks from project conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage building science projects, including building envelope assessments, energy audits, retrofits, and new construction consulting.
  2. Prepare project proposals, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  3. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
  4. Perform detailed analysis of building envelope systems, including thermal, moisture, and structural performance.
  5. Conduct site inspections, diagnostic testing, and forensic investigations to identify building performance issues.
  6. Develop and review design solutions, specifications, and technical reports related to building science.
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and sustainability guidelines (e.g., LEED, BC Energy Step Code).
  8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
  9. Review work.
  10. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Building Science, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia, or eligibility to obtain.
  3. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in building science, with a strong focus on building envelope design and analysis.
  4. Proven experience managing complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  5. Proficiency in building science software tools and programs (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, and CAD software).
  6. Understand building codes, model national energy code, ASTM standards, CGSB standards, CSA standards.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
