Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within facilities. In addition, the Shipper/Receiver will verify and keep records on all incoming and outgoing shipments.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  2. Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  3. Fill requisitions, work orders, shipping order, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
  4. Mark materials with the appropriate identifying information.
  5. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  6. Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  7. Drive Company shunt vehicle as required to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  8. Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  9. Read work order or follow oral instructions to determine material or container movement requirements.
  10. Load and secure materials into transport vehicles to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  11. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  12. Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  13. Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information.
  14. Compare identifying information, counts, weighs, or measures on incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  15. Ensure that Lean Vision priorities are identified and available operators are effectively assigned.
  16. Ensure that the proper labels and containers are available for Lean Vision operators.
  17. Maintain and improve housekeeping standards in the Lean Vision Area and in the Warehouse.
  18. Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations when performing duties.
  19. Perform all required informal safety checks on a daily basis.
  20. Report any accidents, incidents and/or forklift damage immediately.
  21. Perform preventative maintenance on the fork lift and battery as documented through standard procedures.
  22. Provide assistance to operators as required.
Who we are looking forYour preferred qualifications
  1. Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset.
  2. Strong knowledge of Techform production processes.
  3. Well developed organizational skills as demonstrated by work habits.
  4. Basic mathematical skills.
  5. Above average attention to detail.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
  7. Attention to detail is key.
  8. Must be capable of prioritizing and directing their own work with little supervision.
