Your challenge:

Working closely with the project team and reporting to the Engineering Director, theProject Engineer HVACwill be actively participating in the execution of projects often called upon to multi-task effectively and support multiple requests simultaneously.

You will provide technical and subject matter expertise on marine HVAC systems and components, ship design specifications, heating and cooling load calculations, duct pressure loss calculations, equipment and duct sizing calculations, controls philosophies, etc.

With guidance from the Engineering Manager and the Project Team:

  • Design HVAC-R systems in both 2D and 3D, prepare Control System P&IDs, calculate heat loads, air balancing, duct sizing, pressure drop for ducting and piping systems, equipment selection and noise calculation.
  • Analyses system costs including labour (detailed design, engineering, testing, installation) and components for review.
  • Participates in identifying functional requirements and vendors as needed. Prepares technical documents related to projects including Operator/Maintainer Manuals and Training materials
  • Assist Project Manager in identifying and resolving project issues and risks.
  • Coordinates with clients and support installation managers during the installation phase.
  • Commissioning the installed system: air balance, troubleshoot, and sell-off to the client.
  • May be called upon to assist with preparing technical quotations, assisting with system start-ups on board ships and performing Factory Acceptance Tests, Harbour Acceptance Tests and Sea Acceptance Tests

What sets you apart?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience.
  • Coursework in HVAC-R design or heat transfer and thermodynamics.
  • Excellent 2D and 3D design skills.
  • Bilingual English and French.
  • Ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • No criminal record and must be able to meet security clearance requirements.

Vos défis:

Travaillant en étroite collaboration avec l’équipe de projet et relevant de la directrice de l’ingénierie, l’ingénieur de projet CVC participera activement à l’exécution de projets souvent appelés à effectuer plusieurs tâches efficacement et à prendre en charge plusieurs demandes simultanément.

Vous fournirez une expertise technique et en la matière sur les systèmes et composants CVC marins, les spécifications de conception des navires, les calculs de charge de chauffage et de refroidissement, les calculs de perte de pression dans les conduits, les calculs de dimensionnement des équipements et des conduits, les philosophies de contrôle, etc.

Avec les conseils du responsable de l’ingénierie et de l’équipe de projet :

  • Concevoir des systèmes CVC-R en 2D et 3D, préparer les P&ID du système de contrôle, calculer les charges thermiques, l’équilibrage de l’air, le dimensionnement des conduits, la chute de pression pour les systèmes de conduits et de tuyauterie, la sélection des équipements et le calcul du bruit.
  • Analyse les coûts du système, y compris la main-d’œuvre (conception détaillée, ingénierie, tests, installation) et des composants à revoir.
  • Participe à l’identification des exigences fonctionnelles et des fournisseurs selon les besoins. Prépare les documents techniques liés aux projets, y compris les manuels de l’opérateur/mainteneur et le matériel de formation.
  • Aider le chef de projet à identifier et à résoudre les problèmes et les risques du projet.
  • Coordonne avec les clients et supporte les gestionnaires d’installation pendant la phase d’installation.
  • Mise en service du système installé : bilan d’air, dépannage et vente au client.
  • Peut être appelé à aider à la préparation de devis techniques, à aider au démarrage des systèmes à bord des navires et à effectuer des tests de réception en usine, des tests de réception au port et des tests de réception en mer.

Qu’est-ce qui vous distingue ?

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique.
  • 4 à 7 ans d’expérience.
  • Cours en conception HVAC-R ou en transfert de chaleur et thermodynamique.
  • Excellentes compétences en conception 2D et 3D.
  • Bilingue français et anglais (communications fréquentes avec les bureaux et clients nord-américains)
  • Capacité à réussir dans un environnement entrepreneurial.
  • Aucun casier judiciaire et doit être en mesure de satisfaire aux exigences d’habilitation de sécurité.
