Executive Director

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its national member-driven association. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization, with a strong focus on government relations and advocacy. This role requires engaging with key government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders to influence policy and advocate for the interests of a diverse member base. The Executive Director will also ensure strong operational management, including fiscal integrity, budget management, staff leadership, and program execution. As the organization's spokesperson, the Executive Director will represent the company at high-level meetings and forums, advancing the co-operative model and advocating for policies that promote the sector's growth and development.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should hold a university degree in business management and have at least 7 years of senior management experience in values-aligned organizations. The role demands a leader with a strong business acumen, capable of growing and diversifying the organization's funding to achieve strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working with Boards, strategic and operational planning, human resource development, financial administration, and communications. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking, are essential. The Executive Director must be a high-integrity leader, committed to the values of the co-operative sector, and be willing to travel both domestically and internationally. Proficiency in English and French, or a strong willingness to improve fluency, is an asset for this pan-Canadian organization.
