Ski School Assistant Director

Fall Line Ski & Snowboard School is currently seeking an Assistant Director for the 2023/24 season.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director works closely with the Director in supervising the daily running of the Ski & Snowboard School. This position is necessary for operating an efficient, organized and profitable department. The Assistant Director is the liaison between Lead Hands, Front Desk and School groups.

On a daily basis, they will oversee the management of Front Desk reservations, daily lessons and organization of staff. This means an extensive knowledge of our reservation software and range of products is necessary. They must also have extensive experience in Guest Services and administrative duties. The Assistant Director is also responsible for helping train lead hands, front desk staff as well as instructors at the start of the season. They will also have duties related to growing the Fall Line marketing plan, in addition to understanding the budgeting of the department.

The Assistant Director will also act as the School Group coordinator to liaise with local schools and youth groups in organizing and implementing single and multi-day excursions throughout the season. This will involve everything concerning school groups – booking dates, collecting forms, and overseeing their daily visits.

Qualifications & Experience:
Reservation experience essential
Hold CASI, CSIA or equivalent qualifications (Level 2 or above)
Extensive experience in Customer Service
Experience in the snow sports industry, hospitality and reservations
Sales and marketing and budgeting background an asset
Higher Education or certificates in recreation, sports or fitness an asset
Successful candidates must:
Have extremely strong communication and organizational skills
Computer Skills: proficient using Word, Excel & reservation software
Be responsible, hard working and have an extremely high attention to detail
Experience with group management, staff training and development
Be capable of multi-tasking and working in a high pressure environment
Have exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes
Be polite, patient, understanding and have a positive attitude
Term:
This is a full-time, temporary seasonal position.
Start date: Wednesday, October 11, 2023
End Date: Friday April 12, 2024
