We are currently looking for a Manager – Internal Controls and Financial Reporting
to join our team
What you can expect in this role:
Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Manager – Internal Controls and Financial Reporting will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of internal control processes to ensure SOX compliance as well as the preparation of financial statements, MD&A and other quarterly reports, including preparation and review of certain month-end close processes and accounting memos.
More specifically, here are some of the key responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance, testing and design of internal control processes as well as the implementation of certification process and remediation plan and co-ordination with SOX consultants and external audit firm to maintain SOX compliance (35%)
- Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements as well as management discussion and analysis and audit committee presentation and co-ordinating with external audit firm in quarterly review and year-end audits (30%)
- Update documentation of process narratives and controls (10%)
- Preparation and review of month-end closing tasks and analysis (10%)
- Informing and educating finance team on new and proposed accounting pronouncements including their anticipated impact on annual audit and quarterly review procedures and corporate reporting, as well as advising on accounting pronouncements as they may affect strategic initiatives (10%)
- Assist in other special projects, such as financing, systems integrations/automation, ad hoc reporting requirements and SOX requirements (5%)
Here's the profile we're looking for:
- CPA designation, and/or additional internal audit certifications are an asset i.e. CIA, CISA, CFE, etc.
- 7+ years experience involving the preparation of IFRS financial statements and the audit and/or internal controls for public companies, Big Four experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and internal controls, including SOX
- Strong Microsoft Office suite user (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint)
- Excellent written English skills for the preparation of financial statements and MD&A
Nice to have:
- Inquisitive mind and desire to learn in an emerging industry
- Keen analytical skills and ability to communicate complex accounting matters to non-accounting individuals
- Strong work ethic and sense of ownership
- Team player that is also able to work independently and work well with others
- Flexible and adaptable; experience working in a dynamic environment would be an asset
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva and Jet Reports would be an asset).

- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 h/weekly
- Hybrid/remote possible. Work location: Brossard (Head office), currently 80% remote with a hybrid and flexible approach
