GENERAL MANAGER – Heavy Civil Construction Saint John, NB

Our client, a heavy civil construction company, has an opening for a General Manager. The General Manager (GM) will have full P&L responsibility and oversee all aspects of operations, ensuring the seamless execution of projects while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Leadership and Management
Provide strategic direction and leadership to all areas of the business, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, mission, and goals.
Oversee the preparation and submission of proposals and bids for new projects.

Financial Management
Manage profit and loss statements to ensure financial health and profitability.
Conduct financial forecasting and analysis to support strategic decision-making for projects and work being completed.

Ensure efficient and effective execution of all projects, meeting, or exceeding client expectations.
Oversee equipment maintenance and asset management to ensure minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
Implement and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure environmental compliance in all projects and promote sustainable practices.
Regularly review and update safety protocols and training programs.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven track record in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects desired.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
Strong business development skills with a network of industry contacts desired.
Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
