Hays Property Team is recruiting for an Asset Manager with a well renowned Real Estate business and one of the largest privately owned companies in Canada with annual revenues of over $15 billion in multiple industries.

Your new role

You will be working with a leading Canadian business to assist with their Real Estate business across Vancouver for a commercial portfolio of around 30 properties in the Lower Mainland. The position is a hybrid role with 3/3.5 days in office/on-site with an option for two offices in Vancouver to work out of. This is a newly created role for a continually growing portfolio with three key priorities for the position:

  1. Management of the budgets for the buildings in your portfolio, both CapEx and OpEx, as well as monthly reporting and variance analysis.
  2. Leasing - there is an interchange of both leasing and asset management in this position with the expectation for the Asset Manager to identify potential tenants and negotiate deals.
  3. Asset Management - future strategy and plans for the portfolio, oversight of the P&L for each property, and identifying opportunities for maximizing profitability for each building.

You will be working closely with the PM Team on all CapEx and OpEx work in tracking the budgets.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed as the Asset Manager, you should have over 5+ years experience within an Asset Management role, specifically within Commercial Real Estate. You must have a strong knowledge of financials within commercial and the ability to understand the operational side of the business on a day-to-day basis to maximize opportunities within your portfolio. Experience in managing budgets, both OpEx and CapEx, is a must-have as well as responsibility with Commercial P&L, reporting, building analytics, and long-term building strategy plans.
