It is within this context that the College is seeking its next Senior Vice President, Academic.

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer (President), the Senior Vice President, Academic (Senior Vice President) serves as the College's senior academic officer, overseeing the planning, organization, staffing, direction, and quality assurance of both post-secondary and non-post-secondary, full-time, and part-time academic programs, and services. The Senior Vice President is responsible for ensuring excellence in curricula and teaching, and for all other academic matters, including, but not limited to the implementation of the academic plan, strategic planning, hiring of faculty, accreditation, faculty development, students, academic policies, budgeting, and establishing and nurturing key partnerships in the community.

Additionally, the Senior Vice President provides leadership to key personnel including the Associate Vice-President for Experiential Learning and Innovation, the Associate Vice-President for Global, Online, and Corporate Learning, the Executive Director for Academic Operations and Planning, the Dean of Academic Development, the Deans of the Schools and Faculties, as well as overseeing the Pembroke and Perth regional campuses. As a key member of the executive team, the Senior Vice President actively collaborates with the President and senior management in providing college-wide leadership, strategic planning, and administrative decision-making.

As a well-qualified candidate, you possess proven experience in academic leadership and are well prepared to understand the complexity of the teaching and learning process in a highly dynamic and evolving polytechnic. You are knowledgeable of emerging trends in education that positions you to establish the overall academic strategic direction of the College in way that ensures programs meet the needs of students and industry. You are an inclusive people leader with experience in unionized environments who possesses dynamic communication skills, excellent facilitation and presentation skills, and an ability to build consensus and lead change in a highly complex environment. You are a creative problem solver with sound professional judgment, utilizing technology to enhance efficiency and achieve strategic objectives. You are comfortable overseeing large budgets, formulating and executing on a vision, and possess a track record of developing and maintaining successful external partnerships. Finally, you possess a Master’s degree, with a PhD being an asset. Top of Form
