The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on-budget, and on plan. In this role the incumbent will provide overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion for specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Using strong project management skills and business acumen, the Project Manager will coordinate with cross functional departments in support of the customer's launch goal(s). The successful candidate will be an ambitious and energetic individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to meeting deadlines and delighting customers.


Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure all milestones meet their due dates to achieve the Target Ship Date; negotiate with appropriate departments and resolve all timeline issues with tactical planning to bring any projects back on track if facing obstacles

• Lead the planning and implementation of the project by continuously evaluating and assessing each project milestone closely to identify lessons learned and best practices for implementation in future phases

• Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables

• Define project tasks and resource requirements

• Develop full-scale project plans

• Assemble and project staff

• Plan and schedule project timelines, including but not limited to routine check-in meetings during the first project launch

• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools

• Provide direction and support to the project team

• Constantly monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders

• Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions

• Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

• Project evaluations and assessment of results

• Act as a first point of contact for questions, requests or updates submitted by cross-functional teams related to the scope, timeline, resources, and budget of a project and communicate/escalate the information as appropriate.

• Systematically review projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, within a defined scope, and with agreed-upon specifications to enable the achievement of defined benefits.

• Develop and execute timelines to support the customer’s marketing calendar by planning with appropriate departments including Product Development, R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, Bulk Manufacturing, and Fill Production

• Ensure all milestones meet their due dates in order to achieve the Target Ship Date; negotiate with appropriate departments and resolve all timeline issues with tactical planning to bring any projects back on track if facing obstacles.

• Identify project dependencies; work with all departments and communicate the impacts to senior management and the customer if delivery dates are in jeopardy or missed.

• Any other duties deemed necessary by upper management. 


Skills and Qualifications:

This position requires a project manager to use their knowledge and experience to lead a project from its inception to completion according to a set timeline. This typically includes planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing phases.

• Strong critical thinking, planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability in decision-making, negotiation, conflict management, and communication skills

• Multitasks, influences and leads with the ability to adapt and manage stressful situations

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a cross-functional environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS, etc. in order to produce effective reports, timelines, documents, and spreadsheets.

• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, while managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.

• Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with all internal departments and external customers to report on the project’s progress and mitigate risks and address issues as they arise.

• Self-starter who is analytically minded, an adept problem solver, and able to work independently and efficiently.

• Soft and/or transferrable skills, including leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.


Education & Experience Requirements:

Post-secondary education equivalent to a college Degree.

Qualification in project management or equivalent.

Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.

Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management and proficient in project management tools.

Direct work experience in a project management capacity in a pharmaceutical & cosmetic environment.

Understanding of beauty and OTC contract manufacturing industry preferred.
