As a Senior Accountant, Privately Held Business Group your responsibilities will include:

  1. Working closely with clients and providing exceptional client service.
  2. Providing solutions to our clients on current business and financial issues.
  3. Planning, preparation and execution of financial statements for review engagements and compilations with appropriate note disclosures.
  4. Planning and preparation of working paper files for review engagements and compilations.
  5. Preparation and filing of personal and corporate tax returns.
  6. Providing mentorship and training to junior team members.

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Accountant, Privately Held Business Group? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:

  1. Possession of a University Degree or Diploma with a concentration in Accounting.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in public practice, in accounting and for small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses.
  3. Relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  4. Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Proven problem solver with solid analytical skills.
  7. Strong technical experience in accounting and tax.
  8. Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to grasp new technology tools.
  9. Experience with Caseware, Taxprep and QuickBooks is an asset.

Location: Oakville with travel to clients and other Grant Thornton Offices across Southern Ontario.
