Accounting Manager Job Description

AmerisourceBergen is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in Canada. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures across General Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, and Service Revenue Billing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures
  • Assist the Corporate Controller in daily banking and cash flow requirements
  • Review reconciliations prepared by other team members
  • Ensure all journal entries are printed and completed with necessary backup documentation
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial analysis and reports
  • Manage the creation, review, and update of supporting SOX narratives
  • Manage the SOX testing program and track monthly/quarterly testing
  • Respond to inquiries from VP Finance, Corporate Controller, and other finance and company-wide managers
  • Manage the development and implementation of new procedures and controls
  • Oversee the training of new and existing staff
  • Review supporting documentation for tax returns
  • Continuous process improvement with regards to processes and related financial systems
  • Act as liaison between divisional associates and other department managers
  • Participate in various audits as they arise
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA designation required
  • Minimum twelve (12) years directly related experience, having held progressively responsible positions in Finance/Accounting
  • Experience working in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry would be an asset
