Job Responsibilities:

Flender Corporation Canada is currently looking for a Technical Sales and Service Support Professional to join our Flender mechanical team in Edmonton, Alberta. This position engages in offering solutions and services, business development and acquisition of new customers, including contract negotiations and closing. It involves reviewing customer requests, preparing tenders, submitting them to clients, and ensuring that Flender can satisfy the contract requirements. The position is responsible for the preparation of work orders, entering orders with multiple Flender manufacturing plants and in collaboration with other Flender Business Units when following up on deliveries as required. It champions other aspects of project management within the business unit not listed herein.

As one of technical sales and service support team member, this position will function as the main link to technical departments in the Flender plants, ensure the proper technical specification of products and issue technical documents as required. Additional duties could include providing technical assistance and training to the inside and outside sales force as well as customer visitation in defined regions or on an as-needed basis.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, ideally with minimum 4 years related experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary, and proficiency in AutoCAD or reading engineering drawings would be an asset. Candidates with experience or background in mechanical power transmission shall be given special consideration. Applicants must have a verifiable history of working successfully in a team environment and be able to take initiative and operate productively with minimal supervision. As well, the candidate will possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Experience in project management is essential as the applicant shall be expected to manage multiple application inquiries and service repair projects at the same time. Fluency in the English language is necessary, while knowledge of French and German would be an asset. Applicants must also be willing to eventually travel to Flender’s factories in Europe and attend sales or technical trainings. Certification with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is an asset, yet qualified candidates working towards certification are encouraged to apply.
