Job Description

Pearl Castle, specializing in Taiwanese tea, opened in May of 1996 at Parker Place food court. With over 100 flavors of specialty drinks to choose from, Pearl Castle quickly transformed the Asian beverages industry with freshly-made pearls contributing to an industry boom towards bubble tea.

In November of 1997, Pearl Castle Café was opened at Continental Centre, marking the first official restaurant. In addition to offering the popular bubble tea, Pearl Castle Café also hired a number of well-known chefs from Taiwan, providing customers with a full dining experience beyond just beverages. The combination of innovative dishes, a commitment to using local fresh ingredients and carefully selected raw material from Taiwan proved successful as Pearl Castle Café quickly became a popular choice in Richmond.

Chefs were provided the opportunity to excel in creativity and designing exquisite meals to conquer the hearts for those craving for authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Also beside Taiwanese cuisine, Pearl Castle Café offers various Chinese style deserts, Korean, Japanese and other Asian fusion style dishes to customers in the Greater Vancouver Area. A talented interior designer was also hired to create a modern, clean and comfortable dining environment allowing customers to enjoy their dining experience.

We pride ourselves in customer service while providing authentic Taiwanese cuisine within a clean and modern dining environment. We want to share with everyone in Vancouver a true taste of being in Taiwan. Position: Chinese style desert Cook

Hours of work/week: 30~40 hrs/week

Visa Sponsorship included: Yes

Position Requirement:

Minimum 2 years (Preferably 3 years) of Chinese food cooking experience is required;

Previous Chinese Dim Sum Cook experience and Chinese style desert cook experience is preferred; Completion of Secondary School is required;

Cook certificate or college diploma in cooking, pastry or desert cooking is preferred

Duties as a Chinese style desert Cook:

  • Prepare and cook Chinese dim sum and deserts served in the restaurant;
  • Plan menu and create new recipes for Chinese dim sum and deserts;
  • Keep track of the dim sum inventory and maintain the inventory level;
  • Prepare sauces used in the restaurant;
  • Keep equipment tools organized and clean

Position: Food service Supervisor

Hours of work/week: 30~40 hrs/week

Position Requirement:

Completion of secondary education with minimum 2 years of experience as a server or food service supervisor/manager;

Completion of college program restaurant/hotel management, hospitality or related discipline is required

Main duties:

– Supervise and schedule the servers in the restaurant;

– Give training and assign duties to the servers;

– Ensure restaurants employees are following company policies and safety procedures;

– Manage serving area operations and safety,

– keep equipment and tools clean and ensure restaurant hygiene;

– Serve customers in the restaurant;

– Solve any customer complaints or problem arise in the restaurant;

– Arrange customer seats to maximize the capacity of the restaurant
