Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Validation Manager to join our CXL SoC team. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

As a Senior Manager of Validation Engineering, the candidate will be reporting to the VP of Engineering and is a Full-Time position. We are looking for a highly technical manager to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team focused on the validation of our CXL memory products. We are looking for an experienced “hands on” engineer who can improve our processes, methodologies, infrastructure, and help to grow the team to a best-in-class position.

The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of technical skills involved in validating computer hardware products starting from initial product concept through to the product release to production. The candidate should have hardware validation experience with a successful track record of system validation projects with first-pass success. The role will be adapted accordingly to the successful candidate, however previous experience with System-on-Chip validation will be an asset. The candidate will need to have outstanding organization, communication, teamwork, debugging, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities
  • Own the product validation test plans and drive the validation team to implement the hardware and automation infrastructure required for efficient and thorough validation execution.
  • Partner with internal and external cross-functional teams, across all levels of a corporation, from executives, team managers and individual contributors including development engineers, capacity planners and supply chain experts
  • Own, develop and continuously adapt and improve validation methodologies and technologies to continuously improve design validation coverage and time-to-market
  • Partner with Architecture, Firmware, Verification, Modeling, Emulation, and Operation teams to deliver high-quality SoC products
  • Work with external partners in sourcing contractors and resources, test equipment, PCB manufacturing and assembly, server and CPU suppliers
  • Maintain technical relationships with datacenter servers and memory, storage and/or networking vendors including the historical x86 datacenter/enterprise focused server providers
  • Build and sustain a best-in-class validation team, including hiring and mentoring new team members.
Qualifications
  • Experience in multiple successful SoC or embedded system products with a track record of first-pass success
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor a team in validation planning and test-plan execution of high-speed hardware platforms, containing serial interfaces (e.g. SerDes) and memory interfaces (e.g. DDR)
  • Track record of growing organizations with focus on organization and validation methodology development
  • Experience with project planning, resource allocation, capital and operational budgeting and purchasing is considered an asset
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years of leading validation engineering projects, with preferably 3+ years of managing an engineering team
  • Experience with Linux, JIRA, and Python lab automation or equivalent.
  • Protocol knowledge of high-performance interfaces such as CXL, PCIe, DDR4, DDR5 and/or I3C will be an asset
  • Experience with out-sourcing and managing vendors and contract manufacturers for high-speed PCB design, layout, manufacturing and BOM supply
  • Excellent teamwork and time management skills, self-direction, the ability to work under pressure and the desire to excel in a competitive environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
