DCT Chambers Trucking Ltd. is currently searching for a highly motivated *Shop Lead Mechanic* to join our growing team at the Chambers Transportation Group Ltd. located in *Vernon, BC*.
* _*Schedule will be 4 ON / 3 OFF – Wednesday - Saturday*_

*The Shop Lead Mechanic is a dynamic position that includes, but is not always limited to the following duties:*
* Report to the Maintenance Manager
* Responsible for running day-to-day operations of the shop, work orders and crew.
* Must be able to work on equipment in the shop
* Must be experienced in mechanical maintenance
* Weekly toolbox talks, listening to any concerns from shop employees
* Provide and receive constructive feedback from shop employees
* Keep shop clean and make sure it if a safe working environment
* Maintain open communication with Dispatch advising when equipment is being worked on and for how long.
* Monitor shop and yard equipment for service, repairs, and warranty, and check equipment daily.
* Set up trailer washing as required.
* Keep track of equipment damages and record dates and schedule repairs as soon as possible.
* Take calls from drivers on breakdowns and repairs.
* Parts inventory, communicate with Purchasing Departments on parts and tires for abnormal wear, ex.
* Communicate with suppliers on servicing and availability of units
* Check all invoices for possible charge backs on damage and repairs outside of normal wear and tear.
* Update computer maintenance & equipment files daily on services done.
* Work with D.O.T. on preventative maintenance
* Advise Area Managers when there are issues with drivers or reoccurring damage that is happening

*Position Requirements:*
* At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience required
* Licensed Commercial Transport Mechanic an asset, but not required
* Welding ticket an asset, but not required
* Trailer CVI ticket and asset, but not required
* Strong oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to read technical manuals
* Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
* Able to work closely in a team environment
* Ability to multitask
* Manual dexterity
* 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience
* First Aid Level 1 an asset, and would be required to obtain
* Class 5 Driver’s License, Class 1 or 3 an asset
