Position Title: Senior IT Network Administrator Reports To: Manager, IT Infrastructure and Architecture

Location: Guelph, ON (Hybrid)

Position Summary:

The Senior IT Network Administrator is a member of the Corporate IT Infrastructure team and manages daily operations to ensure that Canadian Solar's data and assets are always accessible, dependable, and secured. The incumbent will work on IT network projects for a growing Global company. The Corporate IT department at Canadian Solar provides essential IT systems and services for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, deployment, and administration of Global network infrastructure.
  • This role will provide technical expertise, leadership, and guidance on complex technical projects.
  • Identify and assess industry trends in Infrastructure solutions, architecture, and information security.
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of wired and wireless office network infrastructure.
  • Provide support and technical guidance on level 2 and level 3 support ticket and issue escalation.
  • Take ownership of risks ensuring they are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Follow standard change control, ticketing, project methodology and incident management processes.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences and transfer knowledge with other team members.
  • Ensure all problems are logged and tracked in the IT ticketing system in accordance with agreed upon service levels.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of advancing Network Administration experience, ideally in a Global manufacturing setting.
  • Overseeing all aspects of network infrastructure, hardware, software, security, and maintenance throughout their lifecycle.
  • Hands-on skills in layer 2 and 3 switching and wireless network management (Experience with Fortinet would be an asset).
  • Experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions. (Experience with Netskope would be an asset).
  • Managing network connectivity at local branches, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and other cloud providers.
  • Deep understanding of IT processes including ticketing systems, change control, security administration & best practices.
  • Having experience moving on-premises infrastructure to cloud, and in acquisitions and divestitures is valuable.
  • Being part of a Global company that has different units or entities, Global teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to document work processes and transfer knowledge to other IT team members.
  • Effective methods for project management and collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Developing IT standards, documentation, and ensuring compliance.
Education:
  • A three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
  • Certifications from Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft Azure, or AWS are desirable assets.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Work on or assist with projects sometimes outside of regular hours.
  • Potential travel to other Canadian Solar offices or training.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Inc. Code of Business Conduct or corporate policies and procedures.
