Job Summary:

As a Department Manager, you will lead and direct all HMR & Deli staff to ensure efficient in-stock positions and provide exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for maintaining productivity within the department, responding to customer inquiries, and maximizing sales and gross profit. Additional responsibilities include hiring and training new employees, interpreting company policies, and ensuring compliance with scheduling practices and wage control.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct and supervise HMR & Deli staff to ensure efficient in-stock positions and courteous customer service.
  2. Maintain productivity within the department, achieving expectations and meeting sales goals.
  3. Respond immediately to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations.
  4. Maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales goals and budgets are met.
  5. Hire and train new employees, ensuring they meet company standards.
  6. Interpret and administer company policies, ensuring compliance with employee guidelines.
  7. Maintain the condition of service counters, production areas, and offices.
  8. Ensure the safety and sanitation of the sales floor, back shop, coolers, and freezers.

Requirements:

  1. Flexibility to work varied hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Accept responsibility for department metrics, leadership, and colleague engagement.
  4. Three to five years' experience in the food service or retail service industry.
  5. Prior management experience is beneficial.
  6. High School Diploma (GED or equivalent).
