Job Title: Systems Engineer
2 days onsite at Downtown Toronto
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Overview:
The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure and ensuring all systems are secure, current, recoverable and documented, by monitoring IT infrastructure and taking proactive measures.

What you will be doing: Plan, design, and deploy IT systems and infrastructure components, including on premise and cloud servers, storage, networking, and virtualization solutions
Implement and maintain security measures and compliance standards to protect data and systems
Monitor system performance and take required action to address issues
Manage and maintain enterprise physical and virtual compute solutions
Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, routers and switches
Manage the organization's cloud infrastructure and services such as Azure and M365
Manage data storage solutions, including SAN and NAS systems
Manage and maintain enterprise backup and restore solutions
Manage the organizations Voice and Voice Messaging systems
Manage and maintain enterprise virtualization platforms, AD, enterprise antivirus systems, infrastructure monitoring and performance management tools as well as enterprise management and deployment tools
Manage and maintain server room cooling and power conditioning systems
Apply necessary systems updates to ensure enterprise infrastructure and end user systems are current and secure
Assess and plan for system capacity and scalability to meet future growth requirements
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime
Act as an escalation point for the Client Services Team
Maintain documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures
Required to participate in project activities and incident resolution after hours and on weekends as necessary.
Monitor email account(s) outside of regular business hours and on weekends and take appropriate action based on the urgency of the matter.

What you must have: University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer or related role
Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or Amazon AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Cisco CCNA, VMware Data Center Virtualization Certification (VCP), Microsoft M365 Associate
Knowledge in the following platforms: Windows Server, VMware, Cisco Networking, Cisco Voice, Enterprise Storage Technologies, Network/Systems Security and Cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and M365
Knowledge of IT Security best practices
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
