Who We AreHS GovTech was founded in 1998 in British Columbia, Canada, The mission was to develop health protection inspection, regulatory enforcement, and communication management systems for federal, state, county, provincial, and municipal governments.Mission/OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior Developer to be responsible for supporting various development duties. The responsibilities of senior developers include writing code, analyzing data, and contributing to the design and implementation of software.To be successful as a Senior Developer, you should demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, ability to thrive in a high pressure environment, and possess excellent communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch senior developer should have extensive experience in software development, be able to keep up-to-date with deadlines, and have strong analytical skills.What you'll be doing:
  • Coordinate with the development team, and product managers to ideate software solutions
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures
  •  Design client-side and server-side architecture
  • Comfortable with building functional front-end of applications
  • Develop and manage dynamic, optimized database queries
  • Write effective APIs
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, debug and rewrite code
  • Write technical documentation
  • Mentor and knowledge share with less experienced team members
  • Follows the agile software development lifecycle

What You'll Need:
  • 6-8 years’ experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer or similar role
  • Experience working in monolithic codebases, fixing bugs, enhancing and modernizing.
  • Highly experienced in back-end development, preferably NodeJS
  • Lucee / Adobe ColdFusion experience a plus
  • Experience writing SQL for Microsoft SQL Server preferred or similar RDMS
  • Familiarity with MongoDB preferred or similar nosql document system
  • Highly experienced in front-end languages and libraries (HTML/CSS/JS)
  • Familiarity with vue, jquery, bootstrap preferred or other similar libraries
  • Familiarity with AWS services preferred or similar cloud concepts
  • Familiarity Slack, Jira, Confluence, stackoverflow teams
  • Proficient with GIT, comfortable branching, merging and resolving conflicts
  • Persistence and great attention to detail
