Who are we looking for?

We are looking for outstanding candidates to grow with us GHD provides virtually all the services that those from the private and public sector require to advance a land development, or redevelopment project, from an initial vision to reality. Our projects are delivered through Land Development offices in Mississauga, Markham, and Whitby.

Within the Land Development Group, GHD has expertise in:

  1. Master Environmental and Servicing Studies
  2. Planning
  3. Detailed design
  4. Approvals and contract administration of secondary plans
  5. Master plan communities
  6. Subdivisions
  7. Site plans

Our Land Development Team is looking for a Senior Project Manager with the ability to work from our Waterloo, Whitby, Markham, Toronto, or Mississauga office locations with a preference of either Whitby or Markham. We offer a hybrid model. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  1. Preparing budgets, proposals, cost estimates, schedules and leading proposal preparation
  2. Actively engaging with clients, architects, planners, and other industry leaders to generate awareness of GHD and its capabilities
  3. Leading and coordinating both site plans and subdivision projects from the development of preliminary concepts through detailed design and construction
  4. Keeping clients informed of project status
  5. Liaising and coordinating with sub-consultants, other disciplines, and members of other teams
  6. Coordinating staffing resources to meet project deadlines for several projects concurrently
  7. Liaising with municipalities, clients, and other approval agencies in the pursuit of approvals and general coordination of work plan, communicating important project information
  8. Managing project schedules, budgets, and invoicing, initiating any necessary actions to achieve established financial targets
  9. Ensuring implementation of quality assurance procedures and processes
  10. Ensuring that project design records and files are effectively managed
  11. Assisting as needed with business planning, identifying opportunities for growth
  12. Performing other design and approval related duties as assigned or required
  13. Actively participating in staff development, staff assessments and business development activities
  14. Actively promoting the profile of GHD by attendance at industry functions and conferences
What you will bring to the team:
  1. Post-secondary civil engineering education
  2. Professional Engineer (is an asset, not required)
  3. Minimum 10+ years’ experience in design and management of land development projects
  4. A full understanding of the Land Use Approval process and roles
  5. Strong technical understanding of the core design process
  6. Detail oriented
  7. Strong time management skills
  8. Ability to lead by example and simultaneously coordinate multiple projects
  9. A positive attitude towards their work, colleagues and is supportive of a team environment
  10. Strong analytical and report writing skills
