What the day will look like
  1. Claims advocacy at a junior to intermediate capacity.
  2. Consulting with clients on minor to intermediate losses, providing guidance and assistance with emphasis on claims preparation, submission, and resolution.
  3. Analyzing claims and coverage issues while guiding the claims process.
  4. Researching legal decisions and judgments on insurance contracts and claims as required.
  5. Take the lead position with Account Managers and Brokers to resolve coverage disputes with insurers.
  6. Prepare reports on claims disputes for management review and guidance.
  7. Make recommendations to clients as appropriate for the settlement of losses.
  8. Coordinate and attend claims settlement meetings with clients and insurers.
  9. Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control standards.
  10. Provide general guidance and support to the Claims Management Team as required and approved by the Regional Claims Manager.
  11. Develop and maintain working relationships with other claims professionals.
  12. Maintain accurate time management records.
  13. Performing other duties as required.
How this opportunity is different

As a Claims Consultant with our Western Canada team, you are responsible for the process of reporting, documenting, and settlement of claims on behalf of clients to an insurance company. This role is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the client service program in support of responsive and efficient client service delivery.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  1. 3-5 years of claims handling experience in the property/casualty sector.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  3. Post-secondary education, or relevant experience.
  4. Eligibility for a General Insurance License.
  5. Committed to continuous learning and professional development, including certifications such as CIP, CAIB, or CRM.
  6. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  7. Client-focused with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  8. Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
