University Guidance Counsellor

Position SummaryFollowing the vision and mission of NOIC Academy, the University Guidance Counsellor plays a pivotal in developing liaison network and strategic long-term partnership with reputable universities locally and overseas, specialized in areas of Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, etc. The incumbent also aims at providing guidance to students in pursuing a successful development in their tertiary education. This includes offering academic advising, career counseling, personal counseling, and coordinating programs and resources to promote student success and well-being. This position reports to the Principal and CEO, and works very closely with students and teaching staff to provide directions in professional guidance.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Networking & Partnership: develop and expand the network with different universities around the world for long-term relationship building; keep abreast of the updates and new trends of tertiary world on career exploration resources.Guidance & Counselling: provide guidance and support for senior students in mapping of career paths; give advise to students to achieve successful application; provide information and advice on scholarship application, etc.Group Sessions for Guidance: give guidance and feedback to students in preparing for a good portfolios; provide feedback and guidelines to teachers/mentors in references writing.Position RequirementsHolder of Bachelor’s Degree or aboveNot less than two years in career counseling in school settingIn-depth knowledge of global universities and the admissions process for international universitiesStrong organizational skills with excellent time-management skills and ability to handle tasks with priorities and work towards different deadlinesStrong communication skills in using empathy, diplomacy, and tact when dealing with sensitive issues concerning student applicationsWith integrity and uphold the value of NOIC in working with external parties
