We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Lead. Selected candidate will join a global DB Operations team responsible for providing support and maintaining the overall performance, reliability, and availability of our database systems. The DBA Operations team will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal database performance and support the organization's data management objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively administer the databases to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
- Lead the team’s workflow for projects, changes, and incident resolution.
- Ensure that team members align with the culture and strategy of the database organization.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach within the database team.
BASIC SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or exceptional equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- 6+ years as a MS SQL Server database administrator leveraging:
- T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, database design, configurations and builds, logical and physical data modeling, stored procedures, monitoring, upgrade, patching, security, backup/recovery, and data integrity skills.
- SQL internals, Clustering, Always-On, Partitioning, and In-Memory.
- 2+ years of experience leading a Database Team.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Experience with advanced Windows OS commands and automation tools; demonstrated PowerShell and batch scripting skills.
- Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server Database management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in design, deployment, operations, and modernization as performed by Senior Database Administrators and Database Engineers.
- Manage workflow for projects and day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to team alignment with the vision and strategic direction of the database organization.
- Assist in the evaluation of new and existing staff members.
- Provide technical insight and guidance to the team.
- Oversee implementation of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with product and service requirements.
- Ensure team standards for new builds and troubleshooting.
- Aim to reduce complexity and maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Proficient in designing, engineering, and supporting AWS/Cloud database solutions.
- Provide leadership for the team to design and build automated solutions.
