The Nuclear Cardiology department within SHC is currently recruiting a temp full-time time, Nuclear Medicine Radiation Technologist (NMRT) III. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist III is the senior tech responsible for leading, organizing and directing technical and daily work activities. This position will work collaboratively with our colleagues at the FMC to enhance patient care within Nuclear Cardiology. The Supervisor will ensure efficient and optimal analyses of Nuclear Cardiology imaging procedures are produced. The position will also participate in ensuring consistent workload distribution, productivity standards and procedure protocols are followed. The position will work closely with the Medical Director as well as other Nuclear Cardiology Physicians and the Unit Manager. This is a working supervisor role which requires day to day operational tasks surrounding patient care as well as non-clinical or administrative duties.The Nuclear Medicine Technologist III is responsible to prepare, administer and measure radioisotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic and tracer studies utilizing radioisotope equipment. The NMRT will assist in the completion of the following tests: Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI), Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiograms (Cardiac CTA) and Calcium Scoring, Multigated Acquisition Scan (MUGA).The successful candidate will comply with practice standards set by the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT), the Health Professions Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Health Information Act and other relevant legislation. The NMRT will also demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to guidelines outlined by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC).

Description:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) III, you will be responsible for coordinating the day- to-day operations of a nuclear medicine area and/or performing specialized nuclear medicine procedures for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. You will provide and perform the highest quality service possible, to clients during Nuclear Medicine including SPECT/CT examinations. This is done in an effective, efficient and safe manner.As a NMT III, you will be the senior technologist responsible for leading, organizing and directing all technical and daily work activities. You will ensure that the service provided is effective, efficient and of the highest standard. You will also participate in ensuring consistent workload distribution and productivity standards and procedures are followed.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) program.Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.Current member in good standing with the CAMRT and ACMDTT.Current CT and Contrast Media Enhanced Practice Designation with ACMDTT.Registered with the Health Disciplines Board of Alberta.Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Experience in a leadership/charge position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years Nuclear Cardiology experience.Experience in performing Cardiac CT.Current dysrhythmia certification.Experience in research activities involving nuclear cardiology.Familiar with the principles and practices associated with Patient and Family Centered care.Familiarity with the following IT systems:Connect Care.APPROACH.Netcare.
