Tax Director

Join our client’s growing team as the Director of Tax. This leadership role will oversee all tax-related activities within the organization, including tax planning, compliance, reporting, and strategy. This requires a deep understanding of tax regulations and the ability to manage a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of navigating complex tax issues and optimizing tax strategies to benefit the organization.Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all tax returns, including income, sales, property, and payroll taxes.Manage tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities.Provide strategic tax planning advice to senior management and various departments.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of tax strategies with overall business objectives.Conduct thorough research and analysis of tax issues to support business decisions.Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.Mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MST, JD) preferred.CPA certification is required.5 -7 years of progressive experience in tax, including leadership roles.In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Experience with tax planning, compliance, and strategy in a corporate environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership and team management abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
