Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Candidates must be living in Kingston Ontario or its surrounding areas

Position Overview:

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative embedded solutions that require both technical excellence and user-friendly front-end interfaces. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, code, test, and maintain embedded software with a strong emphasis on scripting, REST APIs, and JavaScript. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our embedded systems projects and enhance user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware developers, and designers, to understand project requirements.
- Develop and maintain embedded software for various applications, with a focus on scripting and REST APIs.
- Create intuitive front-end interfaces using JavaScript and related technologies.
- Implement RESTful APIs for communication between embedded systems and external devices.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize embedded software to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in embedded software development and front-end development.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the development team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience (at least 3 years) as an Embedded Software Engineer with a focus on scripting and front-end development.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with embedded systems development.
- Strong command of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and control.
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience with front-end development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with web development frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
