Video: What We Do

The Part Engineering team is dedicated to manufacturing quality aerospace gas turbine engine components, with a focus on hot section blades & vanes. In this role, engineers take part ownership and responsibility throughout the entire manufacturing process, specializing in investment casting of nickel-based superalloys. The team consists of Product Engineers, overseeing component dimensions, and Process Engineers, ensuring material quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating manufacturing process workflows, developing wax assemblies.
  • Determining shell build recipes and optimizing casting processes.
  • Develop process routing steps and provide engineering instruction.
  • Track trials and troubleshoot quality issues for enhanced yield.
  • Developing processes that lead to high-quality castings meeting customer specifications and deadlines.
  • Reviewing blueprints, reducing scrap, and collaborating on plant initiatives to drive innovation and cost reduction.

Education and Experience:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience, and minimum 5 years of experience in investment casting.
  • Broad knowledge of metal casting, and use of engineering fundamentals such as the various physics that drive and control the various casting processes.
  • Experience with casting processes and the fundamentals of casting solidification and microstructure development.
  • Understand and have produced directionally solidified castings and the process variables that affect the cast result.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and with Six Sigma Methods & Tools, and Associated Engineering Statistical Methods.
  • Self-Motivated with an ownership mentality.
