Job Summary:

Our client is currently seeking a Civil Traffic & Transportation Engineer to join their Municipal/Land Development Transportation Design Group in Ottawa, Ontario

Job Duties:
  • Traffic impact analysis and report preparation, including: coordinating traffic counts, calculating growth rates, trip generation, assessing traffic impact at access locations/nearby intersections, and compiling recommended roadway improvements.
  • Develop design concepts into preliminary designs, including: preparation of design briefs, detailed geometry and general layout development, as well as other infrastructure elements.
  • Preliminary cost estimates.
  • Attend/prepare presentations for Public Open House/Planning Committee Meetings as required.
  • Use and expand knowledge of current industry practices and standards and undertake engineering analysis following these approved standards and procedures.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff.
  • Manage client relationships on a per-project basis.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering – Interest or Concentration in Transportation.
  • P.Eng designation or the ability to register with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Field or Site Work experience an asset (survey, inspection).
  • Knowledge of the following software would be an asset: Synchro Ver. 8 Traffic software, Rodel-v1Win (Roundabout software), AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, technical writing skills.
  • Independent, displaying a high level of commitment.
