Municipal Project Engineer

Gannett Fleming’s Toronto, Canada office is seeking a Project Engineer – Municipal with a strong civil background, focusing on water and wastewater projects, to support planning, design, and construction oversight. The role involves working with local clients such as the MTO, Metrolinx, and municipal agencies.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing concept and detailed designs following project, client, and stakeholder standards to deliver high-quality technical services. You will engage with a dynamic utilities team and clients in a fast-paced environment.Additional ResponsibilitiesLead utility relocations or installations involving water and sewersProduce preliminary and detailed designs for water and/or wastewater projectsDevelop feasibility studies, technical memos, and other documentationPrepare drainage plans, capacity assessments, and design calculationsCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholdersDevelop and validate cost estimates for municipal projectsManage permits and prepare tender documents for construction projectsEducation & ExperienceB.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resources Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferredProfessional Engineer license in Ontario (P.Eng.)5-10 years’ experience in civil site design, watermains, sewers, stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and permittingKnowledge of regulatory environment and approvals processStrong communication and project management skillsExperience with Civil3D, MicroStation, AutoCAD; ArcGIS and Bentley software are a plusCompany OverviewGannett Fleming values innovation, social responsibility, diversity, and quality.
