Job Description

The Junior Data Analyst will support the business across a range of data collection initiatives along with analysis, and visualization of data. As part of that role, they support the day-to-day management of numerous projects, working with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. Additionally, the role will include supporting syndicated and primary research to utilize consumer, channel, and category insights by informing reporting templates and best practices for Horizon Media analytics on both existing and new clients.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

80% - Data Discovery & Management

  • Handle data transfer from client to Horizon Media and to external data partners; comfortable with automated data sharing systems
  • Maintain & Monitor data/reporting integrity
  • Export and format quantitative results from syndicated or primary research sources (e.g., Data table creation and manipulation)

20% - Delivery

  • Communicate and articulate meaningful connections derived from discovery to insights in clear, concise, and effective manner either in written or oral form
  • Present results, insights, and outcomes of discovery to internal and external stakeholders and/or clients

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • 1-2 years of experience in research and analytics
  • Experience using and strong knowledge of MS Excel
  • Data visualization/analysis experience (Data Studio, Tableau, SPSS, Q)
  • Experience programming questionnaires with Alchemer is an asset
  • Superior organizational skills, tireless attention to detail & demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
  • Excellent English communication skills; both oral & written
  • A drive to learn & master new technologies, coding languages, and techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, and communicate in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of paid media metrics/landscape would be advantageous.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university in the field of mathematics, economics, science, or business (or equivalent work experience)
  • Curious and interested in continuous learning and growth
