ROLEAs a Medical Radiation Technologist, you will provide and maintain efficient and effective radiological service to the public in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Department.
- Be capable of working both independently as well as with other staff members to provide an efficient and effective radiological service for the public in accordance with the Department’s Policies and Procedures
- Ensuring the correct and safe usage of all x-ray equipment in accordance with regulations and manufacturer’s recommendations
- Provide service to all patients with dignity and respect regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, age, type of illness, or mental or physical challenge
- Have the ability to perform image analysis respecting the guidelines as specified for this healthcare facility
- Acquire the knowledge, skill and judgment to perform all procedures in the following areas: general radiography, special procedures, gastrics, operating room, endoscopy, trauma room, emergency as well as additional modalities as assigned by the Diagnostic Imaging Manager which may include computerized tomography, mammography and bone mineral density
Note: MRT-R hires without previous CT experience will be required to provide proof of completion, or, complete relevant CT courses and will be trained into CT by MAHC DI department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)- Graduate of a recognized training program
- Certified and registered with C.M.R.T.O., C.A.M.R.T. and O.A.M.R.S.
- C.P.R. certification
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Radiology techniques in both theory and practice
- Sound knowledge of all equipment and appropriate skills to operate equipment
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with patients, staff members and Physicians
- Excellent organization skills to perform required duties effectively and in a timely manner
- The ability to prioritize exams to meet both the needs of the patient as well as the department
- Knowledge of proper lifting procedures
- Regular and punctual attendance is mandatory
- Signing Bonus You could qualify for $7500 (Only applicable for external applicants applying for Permanent Part Time and Permanent Full-Time positions)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONLocations: Multi-site, working at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville.
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the collective agreement.
