SUMMARY

We are hiring a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be a full-time, permanent position working out of our head office located in Oakville, Ontario. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to ferocious customer service, treating people right, and being a part of a team. Our team is the heart of everything The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. As a Senior Accountant, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation of DRMG’s dedicated print facility and work with other related companies as required.

AS A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:

Reconciling bank accounts on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of financial records and identify any discrepancies.

Managing cash flow by monitoring incoming and outgoing funds and maintaining sufficient liquidity to meet financial obligations.

Performing month-end tasks such as preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, updating working papers, and preparing accurate financial statements in a timely manner.

Filing taxes, including HST, QST, and PST, and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

Assisting the department with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed, to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.

Processing payments, including issuing checks, wire transfers, and ACH transactions, and ensuring accurate recording of all transactions in the accounting system.

Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records and financial transactions.

Performing monthly and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.

Managing the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial information.

Preparing other miscellaneous reports as required by management, including variance analyses, budget vs actual reports, and ad hoc analyses.

Participating in learning and development initiatives proposed by DRMG’s internal learning platform, DRMG University.

Travelling to DRMG's print facility located in Ottawa.

Assisting with other tasks as assigned by the VP, Finance.

YOU CAN EXCEL AS A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT IF YOU HAVE:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance related field. 

CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis in a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy to ensure the integrity of financial records and reports.

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems to manage financial data and streamline processes.

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including federal, state/provincial, and local tax requirements.

Ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements, and proactively seek opportunities for improvement.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Attention to detail, highly organized, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
