Markham, Canada The Cadogan Clinic Full time

The Cadogan Clinic is a private hospital in Sloane Street Chelsea, specialising in plastic surgery, dermatology and non-surgical aesthetic procedures. The Clinic revenues have grown 20% CAGR and we are now looking for a Finance Director to provide Board-level strategic financial leadership, and work with the management team to manage risk, and support overall business growth – organic and inorganic.

The successful candidate will have Finance Director experience in small to medium, consumer-orientated business. The candidate will be as comfortable delivering as they are delegating, taking a lead role in managing reporting processes, financial controls, month-end, stock, audit and all other elements of financial accounting.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management:
  1. Drive financial strategy, planning and analysis to support business growth.
  2. Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and tax.
  3. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
  4. Manage cash flow and liquidity.
  5. Negotiate and manage banking relationships.
  6. Deliver Payroll.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
  1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  2. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  3. Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  4. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  5. Prepare and deliver financial reports and presentations for Board, executive management and stakeholders.
  6. Conduct financial modelling and scenario planning.
Risk Management:
  1. Identify and assess financial risks.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk.
Operational:
  1. Manage PMI insurance programs.
  2. Own cost control programme including stock management.
Strategic Planning:
  1. Collaborate with Board and Senior Leadership team to develop and execute strategic financial plans.
  2. Provide financial analysis and advice to support business decisions.
  3. Identify opportunities for growth and cost reduction.
  4. Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
  5. Conduct financial analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
  6. Provide financial advice and support to the executive team.
Growth & External Relationships:
  1. Conduct financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
  2. Communicate with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  3. Prepare financial reports and presentations.
  4. Manage investor relations events and conferences.
Team Leadership:
  1. Lead, mentor and develop and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, and development, to strive for operational excellence.
  2. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
IT:
  1. Ownership of IT-driven performance reporting including weekly KPIs.
Compliance:
  1. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
  2. Lead, manage and oversee audits processes, implementing changes to improve governance as required.
  3. Manage VAT processes ensuring timely payments are made on schedule.
  4. Reporting to external bodies (PHIN).
  5. Patient record compliance reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Qualified accountant - ACCA preferred.
  2. Small business background essential.
  3. Consumer business background essential – comfortable dealing with large numbers of transactions.
  4. Strong IT skills.
  5. Proven ability to develop and enforce strong control environment.
  6. Detail orientated, constantly challenging and verifying numbers, able to deal with complex issues.
  7. Flexible and able to operate in a continually changing environment and at a high level of workload.
  8. Ambitious self-starter with pragmatic, hands-on, 'can do’ attitude.
  9. Strong leader and strong communicator.
  10. Process review and improvement skills.
