Position Overview Working as a member of the inter‑professional team, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing assessment, consultation and education to the patient, family members and the inter‑professional team within a variety of programme areas including but not limited to critical care, respirology, medicine, stroke, surgery and the emergency department. The Physiotherapist provides care to patients of the hospital and its affiliates. The successful candidate will participate in programme development and evaluation as well as actively participate in regular team meetings, liaise with community‑based providers, advocate on behalf of clients and their families and participate in inter‑professional patient and family conferences as needed. Primary assignment for this position will be in medicine and surgery. Rotation into the weekends is required. Education M.Sc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) Member in good standing with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario Additional certification/training in neurological Physiotherapy techniques preferred Experience Registration and license to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and in good standing Recent experience in acute care hospital‑based orthopedics, medicine, stroke/neuro, and geriatric care preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work and function effectively as an interdisciplinary team member Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Strong interpersonal, organisational and problem‑solving skills Motivated to practice in accordance with the mission and vision of hospital/health service Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development Excellent work performance and attendance All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) [formerly Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH)] agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
