The Opportunity:
Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a Senior Analyst, FP&A to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Senior Analyst, FP&A you will support the Sunwing Vacations with foundational processes, including monthly forecasts and annual budgets. You will conduct forward-looking financial and operational analyses to support various projects and strategic initiatives, communicating the findings to Executive stakeholders. Senior Analysts will be expected to mentor peers, perform reviews, and work on more complex analyses and portfolios. The position reports to the Senior Director, Financial Analysis & Reporting and will be located in Toronto, ON.
What You’ll Do:
- Key member of both the FP&A and functional project teams who provides meaningful financial and operational insight.
- Support Sunwing Vacations leadership and FP&A teams in performing detailed financial modelling and analysis for business cases, projects and initiatives.
- Build and maintain forecast and budgeting models for the Sunwing Vacations business and its leadership team.
- Communicate regularly with Sunwing Vacations business partners to understand and act upon changes in the operating environment.
- Author monthly reporting packages and analyses for Sunwing Vacations business partners which includes revenue and expense variance analysis vs. budget and forecast.
- Present monthly financial results to business partners, including Finance and Sunwing Vacations leadership teams.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators, highlighting relevant risks and opportunities.
- Partner with Accounting to understand the financial impact of accounting entries and policy choices on operational results.
- Be an active member of the Finance team; willing to mentor and coach peers, brainstorm issues, and be flexible in completing any task.
What You’ll Need:
- Completion of a postsecondary degree in Commerce or Business Administration. A postgraduate degree/designation (e.g. CFA, MBA, CPA) would be considered an asset.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in progressively complex financial analysis roles.
- Ability and desire to provide keen insight to business partners.
- Extensive experience with financial analysis and modelling, including sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Strong communicator who demonstrates ability to focus communication to the needs of the audience.
- Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement.
- Excel proficiency (ability to prepare pivot tables, VLOOKUP formulas, etc.).
- Experience using Access databases, Oracle EPM (Hyperion), or equivalent systems.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI) and/or proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Able to handle pressure and meet tight timelines in an environment with a high volume of activity.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
