Our client in the healthcare industry seeks a Technical Readiness Site Lead for a six (6) month engagement based in Surrey, British Columbia. This role will require consultants to visit sites across the Fraser Valley region.

Position Overview:

The Site Lead (Technical Readiness) will be expected to apply their experiences as a front-line staff member and liaise with colleagues and vendors across the region to applicable site changes required to support the implementation of a new CIS and the enhanced workflows that will be used by clinical staff.

Key Deliverables:

  • Leading the design, implementation and management of electrical, network, and other technical uplift requirements, including providing supervision, guidance and leadership to assigned staff and non-staff resources (e.g. project resources).
  • Understanding and ensuring alignment with processes and tools (e.g. Change and configuration management, service management) used by organization’s service providers and vendors.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to support the technical readiness domain, including desktop engineering-related work and go-live and cutover activities.
  • Ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are aware of and able to comply with the requirements for successful transition of new and amended devices, peripherals, and support services into FHA’s environment.
  • Providing support to Senior Leadership, often in the form of detailed opportunities analyses and recommendations, participation in issues management discussions, and representation on functional working groups and committees.
  • Identifying, coordinating, and executing on changes required to enable the deployment of devices.
  • Defining, recommending, documenting, and managing projects.
  • Go-live conversion and cut-over experience preferred.
  • Experience with computing devices preferred.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Access to a vehicle for regular onsite visits to Fraser Health hospitals.

Support for the Meditech Expanse Project

  • Working with the Meditech Expanse Project structure and resources, this role will be responsible for identifying the device and peripheral requirements to ultimately inform the development of a device strategy, plan and the execution during the Meditech Expanse project.
  • Specific expectations include definition and documentation of business requirements, gap analysis, strategy development (e.g. procurement, installation, configuration, deployment and testing), procurement and acquisition planning, assessment and execution of technical readiness (power, data, Wi-Fi, wall mounts, etc.), and issues/risk identification, documentation, assessment and mitigation.

Specific Qualifications or Experience Required:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare-related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in Healthcare with a focus on IT systems and operational support.
  • Demonstrated internal/external stakeholder provider and clinician engagement experience.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks and effectively prioritize work.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication, documentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience using tools like JIRA, Smartsheet and Office365.
  • Access to Microsoft Visio and experience in developing floor plans.
  • Experience in collecting, managing and implementing electrical requirements with third party vendors.
  • Experience in collecting, managing and implementing network, including Wi-Fi requirements with third party vendors.
  • Experience in Windows image management, including mass application deployment.
  • Experience in developing device and peripheral strategies and deployment plans.
  • Experience in leading and/or managing device deployment projects.
  • Experience in developing end-user experience strategies.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and assessment.
  • Experience developing device acquisition / procurement approaches including appropriate evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating trades for cabling and installations work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, client service, organizational, and project management skills.

Nice-To-Have Skills

  • Strong knowledge of general workflows in a hospital environment an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical and network requirements in the clinical setting (e.g. desktops, laptops, workstation on wheels).
  • Knowledge and understanding of mobility environments and devices used within them (e.g. smartphones, cell phones, pagers, etc.).
  • Knowledge and understanding of output management environments and devices used within them (e.g. multi-function printers, label printers, fax machines), particularly in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the infrastructure required to support devices such as electrical outlets, network ports, and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with 3rd-party device and service procurement models.
  • Understanding of reporting and metrics in a healthcare setting.
  • Competent to work all phases of application systems analysis.
  • System implementation experience required; CIS implementation and MEDITECH go-live experience preferred.
  • Go-live conversion and cut-over experience preferred.
