Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Retain strong vendor relationships with current freight (road-air-ocean) carriers, Transportation Management Service Providers and 3PL (3rd party logistics) warehouse locations.
  2. Liaise and negotiate with subsidiary freight carriers and 3PL warehouse locations.
  3. Monitor (vendor review process) performance of all freight carriers and 3PL operations.
  4. Manage/maintain the Primex Shipping and Full Truckload Rate guide procedures.
  5. Ensure Primex is in full compliance with C-TPAT. (Custom-Trade Partners Against Terrorism) and the US Customs and Border Protection Agency. Key liaison when monitoring Primex’s participation through the secure website portal.
  6. Main contact with Carson Custom Brokers on all cross-border sales orders/transfers.
  7. Resolve any arising freight, delivery and or invoicing problems or complaints.
  8. Work with Customer Support in planning and consolidating shipments using the most cost-effective mode/service.
  9. Assist all warehouses in shipping-related queries.
  10. Freight quoting for internal and external customers.
Service Commitment
  1. Meet with freight and 3PL vendors to review account information, negotiate new rates and contracts, and address issues pertaining to the account.
  2. Work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both internal and external customers.
  3. Work collaboratively with related departments – Customer Support, Sales, Warehousing, and Marketing – to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of orders.
Technical Knowledge
  1. Communication and organizational skills are essential.
  2. 3 years of experience in supply chain and logistics is a strong asset.
  3. Strong communication and negotiation skills used across multiple internal departments.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  5. Experience with ERP and transportation management systems is an asset.
Professional Development
  1. Continuously update knowledge and skills for successful job performance.
  2. Review internal communications and external communications from vendors.
  3. Attend staff meetings.
  4. Participate in training programs.
  5. Seek additional educational courses.
Educational Requirements
  1. A college diploma or university degree in business, supply chain, and/or transportation administration preferred.
  2. ASCM/APICS or similar certification is a strong asset.
Compensation

Base Salary - $70,000 CAD - $75,000 CAD
