Esri Canada has an excellent opportunity for a K-12 Education Specialist based in Western Canada. Reporting to the Program Manager, K-12 Education, the successful applicant will work closely with a team of education specialists to support the adoption and use of GIS in Canadian K-12 education.

K-12 Education Specialist responsibilities include:
Support the adoption of ArcGIS for K-12 teaching and learning across Canada, focusing on the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
Provide technical support to educators using Esri software and K-12 teaching resources. Offer guidance on integrating GIS into assignments and school projects.
Organize and facilitate workshops and presentations for pre-service teachers, educators, boards of education, and departments of education across the country.
Create new teaching resources relevant to provincial and territorial curricula and maintain resources current with Esri software.
Stay current on provincial curricula, Esri products and services, and related information regarding K-12 teaching and learning.
Work with informal education providers, such as museum educators, to enhance their program with GIS.
Create customized reports and support the sales order process using Salesforce.
Collaborate with educators/internal departments to create resources such as blogs, videos, story maps, and web pages to promote using Esri software in classrooms and related educational environments, such as museums and youth programs.

Specific skill requirements:
Post-secondary degree in education, environmental science, geography (GIS), or equivalent education and experience.
Knowledge and experience with Esri products such as ArcGIS Online

Competencies in the following are essential:
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent presentation skills
Teaching experience in formal or informal settings, demonstrating the ability to develop and deliver engaging educational experiences.
Interpersonal skills/relationship building
Self-motivated / initiative
Collaborative team approach

Considered as assets for this position:
A teaching certificate.
Lived experience as Indigenous to Turtle Island or as a First Nations, Inuit, or Metis person
Experience working with Indigenous communities and/or organizations in Canada.
Working knowledge of Salesforce

Esri Canada est à la recherche d’une ou d’un spécialiste de l’enseignement au primaire et au secondaire travaillant en l'ouest du canada. La personne retenue relèvera de la ou du gestionnaire de programme, Enseignement primaire et secondaire. Elle travaillera en étroite collaboration avec une équipe de spécialistes de l’enseignement à soutenir l’adoption et l’utilisation des SIG en enseignement primaire et secondaire au Canada.

La ou le spécialiste de l’enseignement au primaire et au secondaire devra mener à bien les tâches suivantes :
Soutenir l’adoption d’ArcGIS pour l’enseignement et l’apprentissage au primaire et au secondaire, en ciblant particulièrement les provinces de la Colombie-Britannique, de l’Alberta et de la Saskatchewan.
Fournir une assistance technique aux enseignantes et enseignants du primaire et du secondaire qui utilisent les logiciels et les ressources pédagogiques d’Esri. Offrir des conseils sur l’intégration des SIG dans les devoirs et les projets scolaires.
Organiser et animer des ateliers et des présentations pour les enseignants en formation, les éducateurs, les conseils d’éducation et les départements de l’éducation dans tout le pays.
Créer de nouvelles ressources pédagogiques adaptées aux programmes d’études provinciaux et territoriaux et maintenir les ressources à jour dans les logiciels d’Esri.
Se tenir au courant des programmes d’enseignement provinciaux, des produits et services d’Esri et des renseignements connexes liés à l’enseignement et à l’apprentissage au primaire et au secondaire.
Travailler avec les fournisseurs d’enseignement informel, comme les éducatrices et les éducateurs dans les musées, en vue d’améliorer leurs programmes avec les SIG.
Créer des rapports personnalisés et soutenir le processus de commande client à l’aide de Salesforce.
Travailler en collaboration avec les enseignants et les services à l’interne à créer des ressources comme des blogues, des vidéos, des cartes narratives et des pages web afin de promouvoir l’utilisation des logiciels d’Esri dans les salles de classe et les environnements éducatifs connexes, notamment les musées et les programmes pour la jeunesse.

Formation, expérience et aptitudes nécessaires
Diplôme postsecondaire en enseignement, en sciences de l’environnement, en géographie (SIG), ou formation et expérience équivalentes.
Connaissance et expérience des produits d’Esri comme ArcGIS Online.

Aptitudes essentielles

Compétences considérées comme des atouts
Certificat en enseignement.
Expérience vécue en tant qu’autochtone de l’Île de la Tortue ou en tant que membre des Premières Nations, des Inuits ou des Métis.
Expérience de travail avec des communautés ou des organisations autochtones au Canada.
Connaissance pratique de Salesforce.
