Responsibilities:

  1. Research, design and evaluate new technical concepts or emerging technologies.
  2. Validate these concepts in the Innovation laboratory with actual mockups.
  3. Organize and attend design reviews taking into consideration industry regulations, Bombardier Aerospace design practices and requirements.
  4. Act as the Cabinet Engineering focal with Bombardier multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers.
  5. Prepare different types of Engineering documentation to support start of design activities.
  6. Help supplier to understand and follow BA processes and best practices.
  7. Find & propose opportunities for product & process improvement (cycle time reduction, ease of production, weight reduction etc.)
  8. Review specifications for accuracy across documentation.
  9. Be mindful of project potential technical issues (critical designs, risks etc.)
  10. Support/attend weekly quality and engineering meetings.
  11. Propose design solutions to change requests (RFC) from supplier and/or production.
  12. Participate in aircraft go & see in production to assess build or installation issues.
  13. Work with supplier and multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal PCR (internal changes) impacts.
  14. Work with supplier and multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal RFQ (client changes) impacts.
  15. Communicate efficiently with colleagues, cross functional teams, and upper management.
  16. Validate certification documents as required to ensure design complies with regulations.
How to thrive in this role?
  1. You are a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with up to maximum of five (5) years of experience.
  2. You have experience working with Catia V5/Enovia/VPM NAV (part, assembly, drawing), MS Excel and Word.
  3. You have relevant technical experience in aircraft interiors completions (considered as an asset).
  4. You have good oral and written communication skills in French and English.
  5. You like to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team, you adapt easily to changes, and customer satisfaction is your number one priority.
  6. You must be a self-motivated person, a team player able to work under pressure and with a minimum of supervision.
