About the Role

Your Responsibilities

  1. Support internal die construction including simulation reviews
  2. Drive internal improvements with simulation/press results and correlation
  3. Create tooling layouts proposals based on customer request and VA/VE concepts
  4. Setup and review Autoform simulations with other departments and divisions
  5. Setup Catia CAD files for release to Tool Design department
  6. Create layouts, concept designs & engineering sketches to aid with the quotation process
  7. Support sales department in preparation of quotations and tooling impacts
  8. Organize/Co-ordinate all customer engineering change requests
  9. Document and report the status of engineering changes for SOW and quoting
  10. Work with a team on continuous improvement initiatives focused around 4DX, Toyota Production System, QAS principles
  11. Responsible for QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions
  12. Perform other reasonable duties as required

Who we are looking for

  • General knowledge of wide variety of automotive tooling such as transfer/progressive dies, assembly fixtures, checking fixtures, etc
  • Minimum two years’ experience using Catia V5 (R30) software
  • Minimum two years’ experience using Autoform simulation software
  • Thorough understanding of stamping tools & production process
  • Knowledge of panel fixturing and measurement analysis
  • Knowledge with Hot Stamp tooling considered an asset
  • Experience with stamping press, thinning measurements, trouble shooting and failure analysis
  • 3 year diploma in Mechanical Technology
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
  • Job/Departmental specific training
  • ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 training as prescribed by QEMS (see matrixes)
  • Orientation, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher, 5S, CI Suggestion Program, Smirt, Catia
