Western Stevedoring is seeking an IT Support Analyst to join our team at our head office in North Vancouver. This is a 9-month full-time contract that has the potential to be extended depending on business needs.
The PositionThe IT Support Analyst is responsible for providing high quality, responsive and service focused first/second line IT support and administration to the user community. They will serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance over the phone or via our ticketing system. This includes coordinating and resolving tickets related to IT incident and service requests, arriving through the IT Service Desk, and supporting client-side hardware and software platforms.
You will be part of a motivated and diverse team and will have a high degree of interaction with all employees throughout the organization.
Responsibilities & Activities User IT Support & Training- Monitor, prioritize, resolve, and close IT Service Desk tickets promptly.
- Provide responsive, timely, and customer-focused support to users on Windows client workstations and iOS/Android mobile devices.
- User account and Security administration.
- Develop and maintain an asset management solution for all company IT assets.
- Deploy, upgrade, and replace desktops and laptops using Intune Autopilot.
- Install, manage and troubleshoot MFP’s as needed.
- Monitor and maintain security systems such as MS Security Center, Defender, CrowdStrike, and Tanium.
- Monitor for threats and work with other IT team members to respond to threat alerts, isolate endpoints, and initiate incident response protocols as needed.
- Support the IT team with managing the cybersecurity awareness training platform.
The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus, will be self-driven, and motivated. You will have the necessary communication skills to converse easily with all members of the organization. You are analytical, a problem solver and critical thinker with attention to detail. The qualifications and skills to be successful in this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Diploma in IT related field or combination of experience and education.
- Strong technical skills, including expertise in Windows operating systems and the Microsoft 365 productivity toolset, including administration and troubleshooting.
- Excellent understanding of user and GPO administration in a Windows AD environment.
- Solid understanding of network protocols (e.g. DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent understanding of various communication and conferencing tools (Teams, VoIP, WebEx, audio visual solutions for meeting rooms, etc.).
- Proficiency with Tanium, Intune (Autopatch, Autopilot, MDM, MAM), Universal Print, and VPN technologies.
- Excellent Customer/Team interaction skills.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
