Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic

LOCATION: Ancaster, ON

WORK ENVIRONMENT: In-Shop

TYPE: Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and PDIs on a variety of equipment that is represented by JJE in a timely and effective manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T) preferred
  2. 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Mechanic or 3+ years’ working experience
  3. Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
  4. Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  2. Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  3. Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  4. Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  5. Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools

SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  4. Use any safety equipment, protective devices or clothing required
  5. Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations
