Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of the Project Assistant is to provide a variety of project management support within the individual project functional areas. These functional areas currently include, but are not limited to:

  1. Project Controls
  2. Project Accounting
  3. Design

As a Project Assistant for the Distribution group, this role will:

  • Assist with the assembly and creation of construction plans
  • Create and update material orders
  • Finalize the construction package for use in the field

Additionally, responsibilities include:

  • Working with Engineers, Designers, and approvers to create and obtain approvals or notifications associated with projects
  • Communicating with customers and external agencies throughout the project construction phase
  • Assisting in maintaining project schedules, tracking systems, and project governance documentation
  • Monitoring and maintaining project-specific systems and documentation
  • Communicating issues and risks with Stakeholders

Day to day, the Project Assistant will:

  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Provide project updates to customers and stakeholders
  • Coordinate project close reporting

Requirements

Requirements for the position include:

  • High School Diploma including Grade 12 Math and Grade 12 English
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role
  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably within the electrical utility industry, would be an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
