Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Accounting Manager for our Canmore, Alberta office. As an integral member of our leadership team, the Senior Manager will play a key role in driving growth, cultivating client relationships, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client engagements, and provide high-quality compilation, tax, and advisory services.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
  • Review tax provisions for clients
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients
  • Keep up to date on the content and practical applications of tax, accounting and assurance standards, and know how to access and research professional and technical materials
  • Design and review, processes, procedure, and workflow within the department
  • Collaborate with managers and other senior managers for capacity and resource planning

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting, with a proven track record of success in client service and business development.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance.
  • Experience working with Caseware/Caseview, Excel, Profile
  • Advanced Canadian tax knowledge – personal, corporate, excise and/or Advanced knowledge on Canadian GAAPs – ASPE and ASNFPO
  • Ability to mentor, coach and develop junior staff
