We are looking for a Manager to join our accounting and finance team to manage a portfolio of clients in our financial reporting team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this person will manage to the fulfilment of our clients’ needs in a growing business and financial reporting landscape. This position plays a key role in helping to mentor and grow a small team of accountants. The Manager is primarily responsible for compiling and presenting comprehensive and tailored financial information in working papers and financial statements to complete quarterly financial statements, annual financial statements, and annual audits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients to ensure the client’s needs are met and relationships are maintained and developed; demonstrate a strong understanding of their business, risks, and operations to be able to respond to client requests
  • Demonstrate ownership over portfolio of clients to ensure accounting, financial reporting, and ad hoc project deadlines are appropriately scheduled and completed
  • Utilize technical expertise and business acumen to complete assigned projects and financial reporting deadlines through completion of high-quality deliverables
  • Identify and implement process improvements as required to streamline accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Supervise accounting staff and review work on a routine basis and as required to ensure that accounting and bookkeeping functions are maintained appropriately
  • Mentor and coach team members to achieve personal and professional goals through setting expectations, providing feedback and determining steps for improvement

Pre-requisites and Skills Required:

  • CPA designation
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Ability to adapt and respond to a fast-paced environment and work autonomously
  • Aptitude in organizational abilities and ability to coordinate multiple ongoing projects
  • Commitment to excellence in work output and client services and communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in preparing financial statements in compliance with IFRS
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, financial reporting, and management principles
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
