Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will have the opportunity to participate the financial reporting processes, influence operational and project accounting, conduct research into technical financial treatments, and participate in special projects. This role is based out of Downtown Vancouver, BC with a hybrid work model.Key Responsibilities:• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.• Perform in-depth variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to senior management.• Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for month-end accruals, review and reconcile accrual accounts to ensure they reflect accurate financial data.• Manage complex intercompany transactions within a global organization and collaborate with regional finance teams to resolve intercompany discrepancies.• Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during the annual audit process.• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements, staying up-to-date with changes in accounting standards.• Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting processes, making recommendations for improvements.• Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from senior management.• Collaborate with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather data and insights for reporting purposes.Qualifications:• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in accounting, complemented by CPA designation.· Proven experience (5+ years) in financial reporting, financial analysis, or accounting.· Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting and financial reporting standards.· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.· Self-motivated, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.· Experience with audit support and regulatory compliance is a plus.Benefits:· Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses· Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans· Retirement savings plan with company matching· Professional development opportunities· Friendly and collaborative work environment· Company-sponsored social events and activities
