We are looking for a Sr Software Engineer in Test for the largest automotive marketplace in Canada.

The Senior Software Engineer in Test works across agile teams to ensure integration points meet functional, performance, and code standard requirements. This role requires that software engineering best practices are applied to the domain of software quality testing. Working closely with the product lead, delivery lead, and other agile team members, the SDET ensures that the desired result for our projects is achieved.

What you'll do...

  1. Build and maintain existing automation frameworks.
  2. Investigate customer problems referred to you by the technical support team, test software defects, and manage the reporting of your work within our ticketing system.
  3. Work in an agile team of Software Engineers, SDETs, and manual QA testers and contribute to Kanban-based execution of projects and business-as-usual work.
  4. Perform a technical analysis of software design by offering input on the testability of functional elements and designs.
  5. Test execution on beta, release-candidate, and production builds of software on multiple platforms including responsive web, native mobile, private REST APIs, and 3rd party integrations.
  6. Perform load and stress testing of the web applications and APIs.
  7. Assist in the mentorship of Junior SDET team members on automation testing best practices, testing design patterns/anti-patterns, and proper testing strategy.

What you'll need...

  1. Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of the “Test Pyramid” and an understanding of the difference between unit tests, component tests, integration tests, and UI testing.
  3. 5+ years of direct experience in software development with strong, hands-on experience in software automation testing, test case development, test execution, test results analysis, and test optimization.
  4. Experience in the creation, maintenance, and optimization of automation frameworks including management of test reporting.
  5. Demonstrated experience in NUnit or JUnit.
  6. Experience working within a formal CI/CD pipeline.
  7. Agile team and methodology experience; Kanban experience is desirable.

Required Skills and Tools

  1. Strong knowledge of C#, and JavaScript.
  2. Knowledge of Selenium WebDriver.
  3. Experience with load testing using JMeter or similar.
  4. API testing using POSTman or similar.
